Darlings, today marks only 115 days until Halloween. That’s just three short months until October – barely a whisper of a moment to plan your party theme and prepare a costume. As you can see, I’ve already started trying out a few new looks for this year.
But don’t fret if you haven’t started your costume search yet, lovies. The good folks over at All Fancy Dress were kind enough to contact me and offer a £30 voucher for one of you lucky readers. I personally have my eye on their basic flapper dress – such delicious possibilities! All you need to do to enter is leave a comment below and let me know what your dream Halloween costume would be, assuming money, time, and possibly the laws of physics were no longer a concern. The contest is open from now until July 14 at 12am.
While the competition is only open to UK and Europe residents, I would love to hear from all of you about your plans. My European and British readers, best of luck with winning the voucher, my dears. The rest of you stand an excellent chance of winning my very literally undying affection by impressing me with your costume comments. Good look, darlings!

115 days, huh? I love the flapper look. I want to be Henry from Henry: A Portrait of a Serial Killer. Either this or Nurse Ratched from One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest. Since she was a nurse and a sadist, I’d wear S&M wear under a 1970s nurse’s uniform, and a neck brace. She wears one at the end of the movie when Jack Nicholson’s character tries to break her neck. I can’t wait for Halloween!
Ooo, very thorough. Great idea!
and all this time I thought you were in LA haha
Jim, corporeally speaking, I do indeed spend most of my time in southern California, but I make a point to have friends throughout space and time. 😉
Hmm, I think I would go as the part of the brain telling us to be more grown up and stop obsessing over Halloween, thats quite scary. Well, that or a Mummy.
I would go with Mummy because you will get zero candy if you are the first thing!
Touché, Mr. Einstein.
The options are ENDLESS and every year I am tortured by an overflow of ideas!! But, I’m narrowing it down. Given the theme (which I’ll announce only early August ;)), I think I’m going to do some sort of adaptation of Katherine Helmond’s skin-stretching scene in the movie Brazil. Now that’s scary baby!!
Well, I just cannot wait to see how you manage that, darling. Your costumes are always so inventive! If only I could split myself in two, I would be in Amsterdam for your Halloween party in a flash!
Hmm…split in two…now that I think about it…. 😉
I have never given much thought about Halloween costumes, but I’d definitely go as Pinhead. Not considering the laws of physics of course, I wouldn’t even know where to start.
I love how the movie universe just can’t get rid of Pinhead – it’s such an instantly recognizable costume! If your head is already clean shaven, it’s not a terribly difficult look to do with a little practice, but once you have to start layering it over a bald cap, things start getting a bit tricky. 😉
My dream Halloween costume would be a suit with mechanical fur growth, sort of like those dolls that can grow hair, and a concealed hoot to pull on, so that I can go from normal to werewolf in seconds 😀
Ayoub, you are my randomly selected winner! I’ll send your details to my contact with All Fancy Dress to get your voucher out to you directly. Congratulations, and thanks so much for playing!
AWESOME!
Thank you! 😀
My top costume would be any of Dita Von Tease’s bedazzled outfits from her paris show http://youtu.be/6D8ESMmrpFY
Oh my goodness, those are fabulous. I remember seeing an article a while back that said her show outfits cost between $50,000 and $100,000 each. Ah well, a ghoul can dream…
I would love a sort of vampiric red riding hood. Big red cape and a sexy red outfit. 😉
Lone, thanks for your entry! I love that idea. I was just looking at this vampire makeup tutorial the other day – a little more blood than I like, but the eyes are dynamite. Just the thing to be peeking out from under a dramatic red cape and hood!
I’ve always wanted to be Beetleguice, the ghost with the most, baby! But without spending a fortune at a costume shop/tailor, or mastering the art of sewing myself (never a strong point…I can’t even make a good pillow!) I can’t figure out a way to do it WELL; I refuse to do it at all if its going to look cheap and stupid. Its too bad I’m in the US and can’t be part of the contest, guess I’ll just have to settle for your undying affection!
To be honest, darling, you already had it at “farts and crafts room.” 🙂
Thanks so much for playing anyway!
I think my dream halloween costume would be a blue minidress with spider-pattern lace underneath! I’ve actually drawn something like this before, it’s so pretty 😀
It’s great of you and All Fancy Dress to be doing this! Coming up with costume ideas is always so much fun xD
Karu, thanks so much for entering! Have you seen this makeup tutorial for a Spider Queen look in blue? It might go perfectly with your dress!
