Friday night means it’s time for Friday Night Features! Tonight’s film is The Origin of Creatures, written and directed by Floris Kaayk. This 2010 short spins a post-apocalyptic reimagining of the Tower of Babel, where mutated limbs creep and crawl together in a frantic but ultimately doomed mission to bring sunlight to the colony’s pulsating, heaving queen. Enjoy, darlings.

That weirded me out. I demand reparations.
Darling, I assume you knew what you were getting into when you clicked the link. No refunds!
I’m going to revisit this one. Had nightmares all night and then read this “where mutated limbs creep and crawl together in a frantic but ultimately doomed mission to bring sunlight to the colony’s pulsating, heaving queen…” so yeah. I will come back to this, lol.
Just imagine a colony of spiders made out of fingers and you’ve basically seen it. 😉
Ohhhh…I do not like that thought, lol. 😉 The picture there with the fingers/eyeballs reminds me of Svankmajer a bit though.
This definitely has a more smooth, digital look to it than Svankmajer’s stop-motion stuff (and is therefore actually a little less creepy, in my opinion). That clay baby in Faust. *shudders*
I am SO happy someone else knows who Svankmajer is!!! I talk about him quite a bit and everybody just gives me funny looks. Less creepy is good. Those skeleton puppets in “Alice” give me the wiggins.
