Darlings, just a quick note that today would have been Thurl Ravenscroft‘s 99th birthday. The beloved voice of Tony the Tiger for more than 50 years and the basso profundo singer of “You’re a Mean One, Mister Grinch,” you many also recognize Thurl as the ghostly voice of Uncle Thomas, the broken statue leading a spooky chorus of “Grim Grinning Ghosts” at Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion. Just in case our dear departed Mr. Ravenscroft has taken up formal residence in the mansion, we’ll wish him happy birthday with this lovely video of the Haunted Mansion’s singing busts. Cheers, and many happily haunting returns!

What a great voice. What a great name!
By all accounts, he was very well thought-of, in and out of the industry.
He certainly seems to have led a full and interesting life. We should all be so fortunate.
