Darlings, welcome back to Friday Night Features, your online home for horror short films! This week’s feature is 2013’s Don’t Move, a cautionary tale of the consequences of playing with forces beyond your control.
“Set on one fateful night, six friends gather for their monthly ‘games night’… and accidentally unleash a demonic force that might tear them – and their friendships – to pieces.”
Directed by Anthony Melton and written by David Scullion, Don’t Move is Episode 8 in Bloody Cuts online anthology of horror shorts. While the film has some flaws, it is marvelously tense and gory, as the terrified party-goers decide to what lengths they will go in order to survive the evening. Astute Friday Night Features watchers may recognize the film’s protagonist, Rachel Bright, as the babysitter in last year’s supremely creepy short The Red Balloon. Perhaps a little harder to recognize but no less enjoyable is Ian Whyte as the demon – none other than Gregor Clegane, the Mountain that Rides, in HBO’s Game of Thrones.
