This year we’ve watched 16 short films for Friday Night Features, ranging for dark comedy and horror parodies to straight up peek-through-your-fingers scary movies. For our final short of 2012, we have a slightly more thoughtful take on the end of days with Mother Died, directed by Neill Gorton and appearing as the fourth film in Bloody Cuts thirteen film horror anthology. What would you do if your world was ending?

That was great.
Thank you, darling. I think it improves on a second watching – actually one of my favorites of the year.
I really enjoyed how so much of the back story was implied/explained in so little of the character’s monologue. You’ve “seen” much more of the story than is actually presented as a result.
I believe this one was made for £600 pounds – a great example of how a well-done story can carry horror without needing to rely on effects.
