Welcome back, darlings, to your home for horror short films, Friday Night Features! Every week, we feature a new short film from somewhere on the horror spectrum. This week, we have something a little different: Cost of Living, an action/horror/comedy short written and directed by BenDavid Grabinski. This 2011 short debuted at last year’s Fantastic Fest in Austin, Texas and features the familiar faces of Brandon Routh (Superman Returns) and Bret Harrison (Reaper) as security guards questioning their employment choices when they are called to help resolve an incident at work. I think this one will resonate especially with Cabin in the Woods fans. Enjoy!

Ha! Love it!
Thanks, Misty Layne. Come back for another short film this Friday! 🙂
HUNK!
Are we talking about Brandon Routh here, or did your cat just randomly walk across the keyboard to make a comment, darling?
So great.
Thanks, Mike. I’m so interested to find out more about this – the writer and director has almost no credits associated on IMDB, but he managed to pull some major names for his short film!
Yeah, it’s weird how that works.
Unusual, to say the least.
Hi there – horror films not my genre but still – each to their own 🙂
Anyway, many thanks for visiting my blog and liking my photos of Shanghai!
Of course, darling. Feel free to poke around the site – we cover the whole landscape of Halloween inspiration around here, whether it’s horror movies, vintage images, or dreamy art for costume design.
Oh that’s fun
Thanks, SC! I have a great sci-fi one in a similar vein that’s waiting in the wings, but I think I’ll go with something a little spookier this week. 🙂
