Kittens, every now and again, I like to check in with a little site news. Today’s update is a bit of a special anniversary here at The Year of Halloween: March 13th, 2013 marks 666 days from our very first post, and what a spooky, fabulous journey the last two years have been. In 22 months, we have published 270 posts, exploring topics from 18th century demonic stereoscopes and haunted islands of dolls to horror movie news and how to create easy costume fairy wings - everything to keep your Halloween fires burning 12 months a year.
A year ago at this time, our site news announcement included TYoH’s passing of the 10,000 view mark (now well over 125,000 views), our new TYoH Facebook page (100 likes as of today, thanks to Steve Habrat of TYoH site favorite Anti-Film School), and the addition of Acadia Einstein as an occasional guest writer (now much-beloved TYoH staff writer).
Looking forward (and there is so very much to look forward to in the next few months), we are a short 232 days from Halloween. At the end of this month, Acadia and I will be attending Charlotte’s Mad Monster Party – do drop me a line if you’re planning to attend. We have a lot currently in the works regarding our collection of the web’s best online horror short films – more on that to be announced in the near future.
Finally, I’d like to announce a special contest for our regular readers here at TYoH. We currently have 595 email subscribers to the site. In honor of today’s site-iversary, when we reach 666 subscribers, I will chose a random subscriber to win a $20 Amazon.com gift card. So if you are a regular reader, don’t miss out – click the email sign up on the top left of the main page. Just our way of saying thank you to you, dearest readers, for keeping Halloween alive all year round.
Love & Squishes,
